The covid-19 situation in Saariselkä, and in Finland in general, is steady. The incidence level in Lapland is approximately 7 at the moment, and there are no restrictions against organizing outdoor events. Therefore, we are certain we will be able to organize Saariselkä MTB Stages again this year, if the situation remains like this.
However, there are still restrictions regarding travelling to Finland. These current restrictions are valid until 11.7.2021.
If you arrive in Finland from a country that is considered high-risk due to the incidence of COVID-19 (incidence level more than 25), you will be required to undergo a health check / covid test at the border.
After you have been tested for COVID-19 at the border, you must take a second test no earlier than 72 hours after your arrival in Finland. If you do not take a second test, you must remain in quarantine for 14 days after arriving in the country.
Entering Finland is possible without the health check if:
- You have a certificate of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series received before arriving in Finland, or
- You have a certificate stating that you have recovered from COVID-19 less than six months ago,
- You are entering Finland from a country with incidence level below 25.
These restrictions are valid until the 11th of July. We will keep you updated on the future restrictions as soon as we know more about them. We are expecting information about restrictions in August in course of July.
